Strategic Legal Fund

The SLF was started in October 2011 as a pilot project, originally funded by The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.

From November 2012, it has been an initiative of Trust for London, delivered in partnership with Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and MigrationWork CIC. It continues to test a new model for supporting legal work that promotes the rights of refugee and asylum seeking children and young people. Specialist level advisers and legal aid solicitors can apply for funding to conduct pre-litigation research or to intervene in court cases in a range of human rights and social welfare law areas. Partnership applications involving community and voluntary sector organisations are welcome.
