MigrationWork were commissioned by St Mungo’s to conduct the final evaluation of their Horn of Africa Health and Wellbeing project. The project was initially designed to provide health and wellbeing support to clients from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan facing destitution in West London. Throughout the project the remit was extended to include advice services and volunteering opportunities.

The evaluation was conducted through interviews and focus groups with clients and project staff. The final report identifies advantages of the project model in terms of flexible, holistic support and the value of the volunteering and peer support opportunities for clients that were built into the project.
