The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Social Integration has launched its first report into how the UK’s immigration system could more effectively promote integration. The report follows five months of hearings from social integration experts and visits to communities where immigration has increased rapidly over recent years.

The APPG has also drawn on the work of it’s Secretariat, The Challenge, which is the UK’s leading social integration charity. MigrationWork Director Dr Rachel Marangozov, working for the Institute for Employment Studies, was an adviser to The Challenge and provided input for the report.

In an accompanying article in the Huffington Post, Rachel Marangozov calls the publication of the APPG report on the Integration of Immigrants “a welcome call for action”, and discusses why integration policies have failed and what needs to be done to tackle the difficult questions facing society.

Further details are available on the website of the APPG Social Integration and the full interim report can be read here: Interim report into integration of immigrants (direct link to PDF).
